Diamonds have always carried a unique sort of symbolism throughout history. Today, it can be mostly famous for its significance in romance - having a diamond ring being the key ring a guy ever buys, and provide to the woman he loves.



But some time before that, loose diamonds stood a very different kind of symbolism and meaning. For millennia, the traits of diamonds that have made them so valuable and so treasured are actually interpreted by different cultures in different ways, and their strength, hardness, brilliance and wonder have signified various meanings.

Today, the value of diamonds in romance and engagement may be the predominant symbolism throughout the world. It carries a special meaning, and has potent emotional significance, but it doesn't mean that it couldn't one day symbolize something quite different yet again.
